What does it mean to be a Member?
Being a member at First Baptist means that we are COMMITTED to serving and caring for one another, ACCOUNTABLE to each other in our spiritual growth and CHRIST HONORING in our gatherings and programs. Specifically, members have the privilege and responsibility to VOTE in church matters and opportunity to SERVE in leadership roles.
Steps to Membership
Schedule a visit with the Pastor or a Deacon.
Attend our membership class. We can generally schedule the class around your schedule. The class will tell you about the church. The class usually lasts for three sessions. Download the class book here:
Your membership will be brought to a vote by the church. We vote for legal reasons (because we are a non-profit) and as a way to unanimously show our welcome to you! At this stage it would be exceedingly rare to not be accepted. There will be a ceremony and accepting of the church covenant followed by signing your name in the official church membership roster.
